Memories of 2022
This was 2022 too: some fun moments from the past year.
Remember the rescue operation? It will soon be on TV!
Last year, our annual report included a report of the rescue operation of the family of one of our warehouse workers Enayatullah, whose wife and children were in Kabul when the city fell to the Taliban.
Our management team pulled out all the stops to help them out, with an intervention by the Prime Minister's Cabinet ultimately providing the breakthrough. Through a secret rescue operation, the family was able to escape from the city and return home to Antwerp. Following this, our CEO posted a message on LinkedIn, which went viral, gathering over 140,000 reads.
Production house The People liked the story so much that they decided to make it into a movie. The rescue operation was reconstructed from start to finish, with testimonies from our management team and, most importantly, with Enayatullah and Prime Minister De Croo taking the leading roles! Filming took place in autumn 2022, commissioned by Canvas. It is set be broadcast on TV later this year!
Gilles
The very first EnergyVision employee. He led Brusol's installation and logistics teams and is close to his people. When it comes to Enayatullah, make that very close. On the night of the rescue operation, Gilles stayed with him the entire night.
Lizz
While for her day-to-day, Lizz coordinates ASTER, when a family is in need, she is first to step up to the plate.
Enayatullah
Humbleness personified. By day, he is a warehouse operator. However, deep down, he is a true poet. Despite going through hell, his story luckily has a happy ending.
Prime Minister De Croo installs solar panels with EnergyHome
(Almost) all hands make light work
A month and a half following the launch of EnergyHome 2.0, Prime Minister Alexander De Croo visited several installation sites. The Prime Minister, together with some of our colleagues, even installed solar panels on an EnergyHome customer's roof, before also going round other EnergyHome customers' houses for coffee and to hear about their experiences. When it comes to the accelerated energy transition, De Croo is literally rolling up his sleeves. However, he will have to get a bit more adept at using his hands before we hire him as an installer! đ
EnergyVision (Brusol) wins Trends Gazelles
In February 2022, EnergyVision was named Ambassador for Large Enterprises (Brussels Region) by Trends Gazelles. Each year, Trends Gazelles crowns the fastest-growing companies in the Flemish, Walloon and Brussels Regions. In 2022, the prize was won by EnergyVision, which over the past five years has grown from 10 to 141 employees, seeing its combined revenue increase from under 10 million euros to over one hundred.
World Economic Forum declares EnergyVision a Global Innovator/Unicorn
Since 1 March 2022, EnergyVision has been part of the World Economic Forum (WEF) network. Indeed, the WEF named EnergyVision a Global Innovator in early 2022, going as far as a 'Global Innovator/Unicorn' by the end of the year. 'The Global Innovators community brings together the world's best start-ups and scale-ups, who are pioneers in technology and business model innovation', states the WEF. 'The Unicorns subsection comprises the crème de la crème of the Global Innovators, i.e. companies valued at over USD 1 billion. The World Economic Forum is delighted that EnergyVision is part of our community. Together, we will work on new solutions to overcome the current crises. We will also be happy to open up our platform so that EnergyVision can engage with CEOs, ministers and other platform members.'
Maarten Michielssens, EnergyVision CEO: 'Back in 2013, I was awarded the accolade of "Technology Pioneer" by the WEF. It is great to once again be part of this community.'

EnergyVision awarded 'Ecodynamic enterprise' label
By installing solar panels, we are already taking a step towards a greener country. But we can always do more!
Since 2022, EnergyVision has officially been an 'Ecodynamic company'. This label rewards companies, associations and institutions in Brussels taking steps towards reducing the impact of their business activities upon the local Brussels environment.
