The EV stories of 2022
Thanks to our co-founder... Bono 😊
In autumn, on the occasion of EnergyVision's eighth anniversary, the Belgian team went on a weekend trip to discuss plans for 2023. What this boiled down was answering the following question: how are we going to help even more people access green, local, low-cost energy even faster? We also found time to record a video, for the first time looking back at the start of EnergyVision in 2014. We wanted to know where our founder/CEO got his inspiration from. As it turned out, the answer was U2.
We posted the video online,www.dearbono.com and it went viral. In two weeks, over 100,000 people visited the website, while over 300,000 people watched the video on Facebook, with a further 140,000 views on YouTube. This yielded close to 5,000 likes on Facebook and more than 30,000 likes on Instagram. So it seems we're not the only ones inspired by U2.☺️
On bailiffs and outrage
EnergyVision is strongly committed to taking away people's worries – not only our customers, but also our employees. While we usually get on with this quietly behind the scenes, occasionally we so publicly, so long as it provides added value for society or can help to solve a problem.
Last summer, for example, a bailiff wanted to seize the wages of an employee who had not paid a parking fine of EUR 40 on time, but had already paid more than EUR 1,000 in bailiff costs. The bailiff company was asking for more than EUR 1,500 in costs, wanting to receive this through some sort of wage agreement. After talking to said company failed to help matters, EnergyVision stepped in as a group, with colleagues raising money to pay for the costs and our CEO posting a message online. That message has been viewed, discussed and shared over 125,000 times. Two months later, the Minister of Justice announced that, from now on, this type of practice and its associated costs would henceforth be restricted.
On the family feeling at EnergyVision
This message needs little explanation. Working at EnergyVision feels good. The best colleagues, the best customers, working together for a better world, always there for one another.
Thank you, Ali!
