A 'capital' year

2022 was a year that felt like twenty years. As if we went 20 years back in time: war in Europe, sky-high energy prices, the aftermath of the pandemic, all coupled with a great deal of social inequality. For EnergyVision, however, it felt like a company 20 years ahead of its time, with solid capital buffers and more people to help out than ever.

In short: a lot happened in 2022.

At the start of 2022, the Prime Minister came for a visit. By the end of the year, he helped our installation teams place solar panels on a client's roof.

At the start of the year, we were happy if a B2B customer signed up for 100 kWp. By the end of it, we had built the largest project in Brussels, with more than 10,000 solar panels at Brussels Expo. At the start of the year, we would have been delighted to have three households on Brusol's waiting list. By the end of it, their were over 1.000 customers on the list.

At the start of the year, EnergyDrive was still just an idea. Today, not only has it become a reality, it is a true benchmark for Brussels and beyond. At the start of the year, our team counted 120 employees. By the end of it, this number stood at 202.

In 2021, we installed 92 MWp-worth of solar panels. In 2022, this grew to 164 MWp. In 2021, we installed 320,000 solar panels. In 2022, this increased to 420,000. In 2021, we installed 20 charging points. In 2022, we exceeded 800.

As for 2023, the plan is very much to carry on growing. We are also building in Wallonia/ EnergyDrive is set to experience major growth, as is EnergyHome. ASTER is ticking over nicely. To achieve all this, we recruited dozens of new team members. And, at the start of 2023, we opened up another 50 vacancies. What's more, in 2022, we completed the first two fundraising rounds in our history, raising a total of EUR 44 million and setting us up perfectly for the years ahead. And so, after all this, we can truly say that 2022 was a capital year for us.
