After launching EnergyHome, our phone lines went off the hook!

In spring 2022, we launched our EnergyHome formula in Flanders. We are the only company in Flanders to offer households 100% free solar panels, a model designed to completely take the burden off the customer. We install the solar panels free of charge, and are also responsible for maintenance, insurance and monitoring.

We bill the green electricity generated by the solar panels and consumed by the family at a fixed price per kWh that is 2-3 times lower than current energy prices. Any unused electricity is then fed into the grid and is sold elsewhere, such as EnergyDrive charging points, all at zero expense to the families concerned.

Conclusion: without investing a single cent, families can immediately save hundreds of euros on their energy bill! What's more, each year, participating families are entitled to cancel their agreement. On the other hand, prices can remain fixed for up to 30 years.

The day EnergyHome was launched was not one to forget! Not only had the spike in energy prices provided a reality check, but internally it was all hands on deck to process the more than 3,000 applications we had received in less than five days. EnergyVision revolves around people. Serving our customers quickly and efficiently is and remains our top priority, with our operational & internal processes being adapted and developed on a continual basis (note to HR: we need more people!). For a day and a half, our phone lines were completely out of action. So the launch was done in true start-up style. Over long evenings and short weekends, half our management team worked overtime – surviving on cold pizza and warm soda – screening roofs for feasibility, making sure that none of our customers were left literally out in the cold.

We learned a lot – what are the reasons why customers have doubts or don't sign up, how best to approach prospects (physical visits vs. webinars, etc.). In September 2022, we launched EnergyHome 2.0. While the philosophy is identical, we have introduced two new formulas offering a choice between fixed and variable pricing schemes. Our customers got an even better offer, with our prices being actually lower than the social rate!
